This cemetery was established in the early 1800's, by the burial on this spot of David Hickerson and his wife Nancy Hickerson. It has been known throughout the years as the Granny Hickerson Cemetery, though members of other families are also known to have been buried here in unmarked graves. It is currently maintained by the Hickerson National Reunion Assn. This marker erected in 1968.
