Albert W. "Allie" Young (1865-1935) and his father, Col. Z.T. Young, had law offices here. Allie was elected to state senate in 1923 and served until his death. He was a political strategist who helped steer campaigns of Governors Goebel and Beckham. His most enduring legacy is Morehead State University. Presented by City of Morehead, Rowan Co. Fiscal Court, Morehead State Univ., and Morehead-Rowan Co. Tourism.
