Ministre de la justice (1941-1946), secr?taire d'?tat aux affaires ext?rieures (1946-1948), premier ministre du Canada (1948-1957), il pr?cha l'unit? nationale et joua un r?le capital dans l'?volution constitutionnelle et judiciaire du pays.
