This boulder was placed on the campus of Gates College, Neligh, Nebraska by the Class of 1890. In 1955 it was removed by alumni of Gates College to the Campus of Doane College as a memorial to Gates College and to G.A. Gregory, Doane alumnus, Class of 1882, for twelve years beloved teacher and administrator of Gates College; a trustee of Doane College. In 1925, upon the approval of Gates' alumni and by vote of the trustees of Doane College, Gates College was adopted by and is perpetuated in Doane College.



First graduating class of Gates College, 1890, Anna Clegg; Darley R. Collings; Herbert E. Gregory; Orvilla Smith; Robin L. Warner.
