Grace Dangberg was the granddaughter of Heinrick Frederick Dangberg, a pioneer Carson Valley settler from a village near Minden, Germany, whose family founded Minden, Nevada.

Miss Dangberg, a distinguished Nevadan, devoted her considerable talents and fortune to the enhancement of cultural pursuits and Nevada history, giving generously to the University of Nevada-Reno, the Carson Valley Historical Society and other deserving institutions.

Dedicated by the Historical Society in 1988.
