With partner acquired Odessa Gasoline plant, founded gas gathering system, drilled discovery wells in Upton County, brought petrochemical industry to Odessa. President of El Paso Products Co,. 1963-80; Organized employee buy-out in 1984 to avert closure. Founder of Texas Commerce Bank - Odessa, director of 7 other Texas financial institutions, rancher.
Visionary booster of cultural, economic development. Led community effort to establish U.T.P.B. Supported innumerable worthy causes, endowed scholarships.
