Heritage District
For many years this site was a vacant lot. In the late 1930s Mr. Templeton converted the lot into a dance pavilion. He constructed a wood floor, added lights and surrounded it with a fence. Couples who came to dance on Saturday nights paid ten cents each. Originally, music was provided by local volunteers. Later, town merchants hired musical groups to perform, and dancing was free.HM Number | HM1NIX |
