Site Plan
This archaeological site consists of the remains of the church, the cemetery, and the surrounding fences. All that remains to indicate the location and size of the church below grade is a small remnant of the foundation builder's trench. The 30' x 60' brick structure was constructed on an east/west axis. Grave shafts appearing below the plowzone soils as well as fence post molds and ditches delineated the cemetery. No above grade markers were discovered for the 210 graves. They were surrounded by several generations of fences, which included post and rail and zig-zag styles. The absence of graves in certain locations indicates the placement of paths and entrances into the church.HM Number | HM1VAR |
