Major Rose commanded Company F of the First U.S. Volunteers and the Second Minnesota Cavalry, of which Andrew was a member. Company F was a group of Confederate prisoners who agreed to serve at western outposts. They were known as "galvanized Yankees."HM Number | HM1WT1 |
