This tablet honors Galo Plaza Lasso, President of the Republic of Ecuador (1940-1952) and Secretary General of the Organization of American States, (1968-1972) born here to Maria Adelina Plaza and General Leonidas Plaza, on February 17, 1906, while his father, also a former President of Ecuador, was serving as Ecuadorina Minister to the United States.
Always a friend of the United States, his life was an inspiration of unselfish devotion to world peace and enhancement of inter-American relations.
En honor de Galo Plaza Lasso, (1906-1987) Presidente de la Republica del Ecuador, (1948-1952), Secretario General de la Organizacion de Estados Americanos, (1968-1972) nacido aqui el 17 de Febrero de 1906, hijo de Maria Adelina Plaza y del General Leonidas Plaza, ex-Presidente del Ecuador, entonces Ministro de su pais English los Estadod Unidos.
Siempre amigo de los eeuu, su vida fue modelo de devoción desinteresada a la paz del mundo y al acrecentamiento de las relaciones internationales.
