Casa del Lic. Pablo García y MontillaEsta casa fue construida durante el siglo XIX. Aquí es donde nació el abogado y político Don Pablo García y Montilla el 27 de enero de 1824. En 1857, siendo Diputado Local propuso la separación del Distrito de Campeche del estado de Yucatán, y su elevación a entidad federal, lo que concluyó con la creación del Estado de Campeche, por decreto definitivo en 1863. Comp primer Gobernador del Estado participó en la defensa de la población del Carmen durante la invasión Francesa. En 1870 dejó el poder y se trasladó a la ciudad de Mérida en donde fue miembre del Tribunal Superior de Justicia y Profesor de la Escuela de Jurisprudencia. En octubre de 1882 la legislatura lo declaró "Benemérito del Estado" English:House Lic. Pablo García y MontillaThis house was built during the 19th Century. This is the birthplace of the attorney and politician Pablo García y Montilla, born on January 27, 1824. In 1857, as Local Representative, he put forward the separation of the District of Campeche from the State of Yucatan, and the raising of its status to that of a State, which concluded with the creation of the State Campeche, by a definitive executive order in 1863. As first Governor of the State, he took part in the defense
of the town of Carmen during the french Invasion. In 1870, he left office and moved to the City of Mérida, where he was a member of the Superior Court of Justice and Professor of the School of Jurisprudence. In October 1882, the legislature declared him a "Distinguished Citizen of the State".
