In memory of Mahlon Stacy the first English settler, 1679, who owned the land both sides of the Assunpink Creek at the Falls of Delaware, now Trenton. He erected a grist mill to accommodate the neighborhood; was a member of the Governor's Council; also of the Legislature; and Justice of the Colonial Courts.A devout member of the Society of Friends: He was interred in their graveyard in what is now Riverview Cemetery 5th day, 2nd month 1704.
