—Bourbon District Historic Site 429 west —Louisville architect Dennis Xavier Murphy inherited a thriving architectural firm from Henry Whitestone and solidified it as a preeminent de firm in the growing city. The firm was well-known for its design of the Galt House Hotel; the grandstand and spires of Churchill Downs; and an array of churches, schools, hospitals, and offices.
