Civil Rights Pioneer

Born in 1899, Walls fought to end segregation in public housing, city libraries, and local Girl Scouts. Walls led the movement that intergrated Girl Scout programs and camps by 1956. She was the first black woman to serve on the Girl Scout Board and the Ky. State Board of Education. Walls died in 1993.
