Quarterback
"The Ruston Rifle" — he had as strong an arm as any quarterback in college history. A 1972 All-American, he finished fourth in Heisman Trophy voting that year. His most notable games were a 1971 win over Notre Dame and vs. Ole Miss in 1972 when. with time expiring, he threw a winning TD pass.
