Work and play...
Custer boasted many different types of businesses including a brewery, carpenter shop, butcher shop, dentist, lawyer, barbershop, post office, general stores, hotels , boarding houses and saloons. The west end of town served as the business district while the majority of the homes were on the east end of town. Entertainment was hard to come by so when there was a game of pool or stud poker to be found, it was a hot place to be. Prizefights scheduled between champion boxers drew big crowds. The people of Custer worked and played hard.HM Number | HM22RB |
