In January, 1862, after the Battle of Mill Springs, KY all the homes in Gainesboro were used as hospitals. The Gaines House is the oldest house in Gainesboro and is the only house still standing that was used as a hospital.

I Could Not Find It
No visible marker anywhere on or about property. Sadly, this site is deteriorating at a rapid pace. Broken windows, missing doors, ect... The entire back of the house is literally falling in with walls. If nothing is done very soon this wonderful place will be lost forever.
