The Navy's Retention Excellence Award, or "Golden Anchor" is
traditionally awarded to active-service Naval vessels for meeting or
exceeding crew retention goals.

On June 11, 2005, Battleship Missouri became the first non-active ship
to be so honored.

Battleship Missouri Memorial is proud to host reenlistment ceremonies
for Sailors, Soldiers, Airmen and Marines, and has done so since opening
to the public in June, 1999.
