As our nation celebrated its 200th anniversary in 1976, Ebenezer United Methodist Church celebrated 138 years of service to God, humanity, country, home, and community. This model is a replica of Little Ebenezer, the frame church that stood on this site before the present brick structure. The first public school for Negro pupils in the District of Columbia was held in this early church.
