The Green Bay - De Pere Antiquarian Society was founded in 1923 by a group of women concerned about the loss and destruction of artifacts and objects important to the history of the community. The Society was established to preserve and protect the area's history and artifacts.

In 1934 the Society formally incorporated. The membership continued to support projects of historic interest.

Today the Green Bay - De Pere Antiquarian Society continues to cooperate with organizations and institutions interested in preserving, protecting and interpreting Brown County's history.
