74th Infantry.
1st Brigade - Post.
1st Division - Davis.
20th Army Corps - McCook.

This regiment was engaged in guarding trains September 19th and
acted with Mitchell's Cavalry Corps at Crawfish Springs during
the afternoon of September 20th 1863.

Text on the Back Side:

The metal plaque that is normally affixed to the backside of these
particular Illinois monuments is missing, most probably stolen by scrappers.
So the text is missing from the backside of this monument.
