The Sri Chinmoy Peace Mile

The Sri Chinmoy Peace Mile was inaugurated to celebrate the International Year of Peace 1986
The Sri Chinmoy Athletics Club organises races for the public in the Park. Sri Chinmoy is the Director of Meditations at the United Nations known as 'The Peace Meditations at the United Nations'. He was a keen runner and is a great advocate of running.
He has written:
"Peace is the harmonious control of life. It is vibrant with life energy. It is a power that easily transcends all our worldly knowledge."
The Sri Chinmoy Peace Mile offers runners the opportunity to run a measured mile and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Park and the River Thames.
