The Brigade on the morning of September 20 was formed on this ground as the left of the second line of Hood's Division Benning's Brigade being on its right. About 11:15 a.m. it followed Johnson's Division in the attack by Longstreet's central column including as it moved to the right and taking part in the attack on the Union line in position in the western edge of the Poe Field.
