Palača Dragišić (De Caris)

Only the English text (right) has been transcribed. To view the Croatian text (left), click on the marker image to enlarge and display it.

This is an originally Romanesque house of the 13th century, with Gothic and Renaissance rebuilding in the 15th century, which, preserving the earlier historical layers, was redefined in the Baroque style into 17th century by Juraj Dragišić (De Caris in the Italian version of the name), canon and writer from a patrician family from Poljica. The family coat of arms is to be seen above the one-time courtyard portal, in the Baroque style. The palace was very considerably remodelled (sic) in the 19th century.
