Since World War II, Andrews Air Force Base in Camp Springs, Maryland has been known for its special mission — the air transport of senior U.S. government officials, foreign heads of state and other visiting dignitaries. During John F. Kennedy's administration, Andrews became the Home of "Air Force One," the official presidential aircraft.
