Since 1822, the Deputies of the
Marion County Sheriff''s Office have provided
the highest measure of public safety to the
people of this great County. The tradition
continues today only because these
outstanding men and women in uniform were
willing to lay down their lives in defense of,
and in service to, our citizens.

On September 11, 2010, this Fallen Deputy
Memorial was dedicated to honor those
Deputies who lost their lives while serving
this most honorable profession. This bronze
depiction of a Deputy Sheriff saluting the
American flag stands as a silent but stirring
tribute to our brave Deputies who have made
the ultimate sacrifice.
