[Left plaque:]
Honoring all veterans of Washington County Maryland
who fought to retain the freedom of the United States of America, and saved the world from tyrrany.
The great armies of World War II were made up of individual men and women willing to fight, and die if necessary, for the freedom of their families, friends, neighbors, and their country.
Sixteen million served, four hundred thousand died, seven billion benefited.
May this memorial be a tribute to the indomitable spirit of citizenry at war, who remained steadfast in their faith in our democratic system.
[Center plaque:]
World War II 1939 - 1945

American Legion Post 202, Williamsport, Maryland
[Right plaque:]
"I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."
God bless the men and women who gave so much to keep us free.
All gave some, some gave all
To all who worked and fought, suffered and died, overseas, and at home, to keep America safe and free.
We are a grateful nation
