This plan shows the extent of Harland and Wolff's shipyard on Queen's Island in 1908. The Queen's Island shipyards were highly successful at this time; 247 ships were built on the island between 1900 and 1913, more than any other shipyard in the world.

During this period, Hamilton Dock was mainly used for repairing new ships destined for all over the world.
