Inscription
This structure erected 1835 as Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Congregation organized in 1812. Many members active participants in Underground Railroad. Church closed 1894. Oscar C. Roebuck operated mortuary here 1909 'till 1936. Then used for offices to 1946. 1947-1957 owned by county and used as apartments for veterans. Then acquired by Walter J. Harris, Jr. Post of VFW for meeting hall and apartments. Purchased in 1982 by Adams County Historical Society. Extensively renovated and opened in 1991 as museum and genealogical library jointly operated by Adams County Historical Society and Adams County Genealogical Society.
