Standing before you are several of the 150 maples given to the United States by Canada in celebration of our northern neighbor's 150th anniversary (1867-2017).
The maple leaf is recognized worldwide as a symbol of Canadian strength, endurance, and values. From the maple's early discovery by Canada's Indigenous Peoples, this symbol can be found on Canada's national flag, currency, and military uniforms.
The United States and Canada have a unique relationship among the community of nations. The two countries share the world's longest and most secure border and have a long history of peace. In addition to geographic proximity, close connections are shared by families, friends, and communities in the two countries. The United States and Canada also have the most successful trade and investment relationship in the world and share the values of freedom and democracy.

La feuille d'érable

Ce cadeau est offert aux États-Unis à l'occasion du 150e anniversaire du Canada (1867-2017).

Nous somme deux nations souveraines qui partagent la frontière la plus longue et la plus sûre du monde. Nous somme deaux peuples qui partagent les valeurs de liberté et de démocratie. Le Canada et les États-Unis ne sont pa liés seulement par la géographie, ils le sont aussi par le liens étroits entre les families, les amis et les collectivités dan le deux pays. Nous avons construit une relation commerciale et d'investissement qui est la plus importante au monde.
