The first fully functional electronic digital computer built by Penn State and among the first to be constructed on any college campus. Assembled 1953-55 by the Department of Electrical Engineering from parts donated by private industry, it proved to be an invaluable research tool for many disciplines and presaged widespread academic applications of computers.
