Landmarks of New York

Known originally as All Saints Church, this building was consecrated by Bishop John Henry Hobart in 1828. The recessed chancel and sanctuary were added in 1848. When All Saints became a chapel of Trinity Church in 1949 its name was changed to St. Augustine's, perpetuating the title of Trinity's former chapel and mission house on East Houston Street.
