 Misión Tilaco(Landa de Matamoros, Qro.) Año 1758 ∙ Bendecida por Fray Juan Crespi en el mes de octubre. En su fachada se aprecian las esculturas de San Pedro, San Pablo, La Inmaculada Concepción, San José y San Francisco de Asís, además de varios ángeles. Su fachada se caracteriza por un detalle extraño: cuatro sirenas
sonrientes. Algunos artistas creen la idea de que simbolizan el pecado y que sobre el debe prevalecer la fé. ¿Sabias qué? ∙ Algunos rasgos de la arquitectura en las misiones de la Sierra Gorda están inspirados en el barroco tequitqui. English translation:The Mission at Tilaco (Landa de Matamoros, Querétaro) 1758 ∙ Blessed by Friar Juan Crespi in the month of October. On its façade, the sculptures of Saint Peter, Saint Paul, the Immaculate Conception, Saint Joseph and Saint Francis of Assisi, as well as several angels can be seen. Its facade is characterized by a strange detail: four mermaids smiling. Some artists believe that they symbolize sin and the idea that faith should prevail over it.
