The Association for Cemetery and Burial Purposes was begun on the 20th of September, 1838, to deal with the business of the cemetery which was located on land donated by the Wm. L. Coonley family. This private organization, still in existence, handles all details connected with this actively used burial place. It is the only cemetery in the Farmington area in which a veteran from each United States war is buried. Here lies Revolutionary War soldier, Levi Green, along with soldiers from the War of 1812, the Civil War, the Spanish-American War, the First and Second World Wars, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
