Iron Works Trail

Maps dating to the mid-19th century indicate that two dwellings once stood in this location. The homes were probably built in the early 1850's. One of the houses belonged to the first owner of the Copake Iron Works, Lemuel Pomeroy II, and later to his son William. The two houses were demolished in the early 20th century and later replaced with park cabins. (Marker Number 19.)
