Richard Rodgers (1902-1979) attended P.S.166 from 1911 to 1916, and it was here that he nurtured his love for music.
As America's greatest lyric composer, Rodgers wrote over 900 songs and the scores to 40 Broadway musicals.
In June 2003, this school was renamed
The Richard Rodgers School of the Arts and Technology
