and Fallam officially claimed

Summers County. Formed 1871 from Monroe,
Fayette, Greenbrier, Mercer.
Named for the distinguished
jurist of Kanawha, George W.
Summers. Dr. Thomas Walker
and companions explored the
Greenbrier Valley, 1750, for
the Greenbrier Company.
