This garden was created by the
South Carolina Department of
Transportation in response to the
September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on
our nation. The purpose of the garden is
to celebrate freedom and liberty and to
provide travelers with the opportunity to
reflect upon these principals and the will
of Americans to maintain them as the
foundation of our country.
