Funded by Nettie Fowler McCormick, this building was designed by the most famous architect of the time, Louis H. Sullivan. Virginia Hall was originally designed as a women's dormitory and was Tusculum's first modern building with baths, fire escapes and furnace heat. Originally, the building housed the Home Economics Department, a dining hall, girl's gymnasium, parlors and reception rooms, as well as an art studio.
