August 3, 1908 - December 14, 1992

Major
1946 - 1952
1957 - 1991

His office was our city's sidewalks and storefronts, and from his walks about the downtown he gained the information needed for leadership.

He was an advocate for harmony and teamwork, regardless of political view, and a visionary whose leadership brought our city state-wide recognition.

He was our mayor for more years than many of our citizens have lived, and his long service recommends him as one of those rare people who come along at the right time.

Odell Weeks loved his church, his family and his friends, but he had a special affection for the people of Aiken; reflected by their returning him to office time after time. Carl Langley
