the Ladies Memorial Association
in grateful remembrance of the
gallant Confederate Soldiers,
who lie here.
They died in defense of the rights
of the South,
in the war between the States,
from 1861 to 1865.

(West face):
1876.
In memory of men
who with their lives
vindicated the principles of
1776.

(South face):

of the Valley of the Shenandoah.
