This building is the property of the Kiamie family. it was built in the Romanesque style, designed in 1890 by Charles W. Romeyn, as a home for the Grolier Club. It provides a fine illustration of how an imaginative architect could compose a highly original design from historical architectural elements. Within the confines of a narrow lot, the unusual arrangement of door and window openings and of arches and columns creates a dramatic effect.
