Inscription
Founded in 1780 under the trees atthe Big Spring by the Rev. SamuelDoak, it was originally called MountBethel Presbyterian Church. Thefirst settled pastor was the Rev.Hezekiah Balch in 1783. Fifteenyears later the name was changedto Harmony Church. The present building dates from 1848 and was restored after a disastrous firein 1928.
