August 29, 1862
At 1:00 p.m. Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest's Cavalry attacked the federal stockade located next tot he railroad. In the short but fierce struggle, Gen. Forrest's commander suffered 180 casualties. Twelve Confederates were buried on the field of battle. Confederate forces withdrew and destroyed railroad bridges between Guest Hollow and McMinnville.HM Number | HMGB7 |
