Golden was the Territorial
Capital of Colorado
Legislative sessions were held in this building (erected by W.A.H. Loveland) and in others, now demolished, across the street.
Golden
was named for Thomas L. Golden who camped on the site in 1858. Town founded by Boston Company June 12, 1859. Incorporated Jan. 2, 1871.
