The Home for Incurables of Baltimore City, was incorporated November 1, 1883, through leadership and resources provided by the men and women of the Hospital Relief Association of Maryland. The purpose of this organization, incorporated December 18, 1880 was "to care for and brighten the days of the weary patients in the hospitals of Baltimore City." The former location of the home was 1640 Fayette Street (1884-1887) and Guilford Avenue and 21st Street (1887-1926) and since 1926 the Home, now known as Keswick, has been at this location.
