A pioneer in electrical engineering . He was president of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, Consulting Engineer of the General Electric Company and Professor of Engineering at Union College. A civic leader he was chairman of the Schenectady School Board and President of the Common Council he served both the broad world of science and the interests of his home city.
