Stationed at AAF Station 128, Deenethorpe, Northamptonshire, England. The 401 BG, assigned to the 1st Div, 84th Combat Wing, Eighth United States Army Air Force.

Flew 254 combat missions over Europe, ETO. Awarded two Distinguished Unit Citations and recognized as the B-17 unit in 8AF with the best bombing accuracy and second lowest loss ratio for missions flown.
