Built in 1778 for rest and meditation by the brilliant Polish military engineer who redesigned and supervised construction of the forts at West Point making it the "Gibraltar of the Hudson" in the Revolution.

This garden, reconstructed in 1968-69, is maintained by the generosity of the Polish American Veterans of Massachusetts and their friends.

May it ever be a place repose in memory of the distinguished Pole who appreciated beauty and serenity even in the midst of strife.
