Fish Street Landing
— May 21, 1825 —
On May 21, 1825, during a third, triumphal, visit to America, the Marquis de la Fayette, 67, visited Maysville. In appreciation for his services on General Washington's staff, and a commander of American troops, the town rolled out the red carpet and Revolutionary War veterans paraded. Local artist Aaron Corwine painted his portrait as he boated from Cincinnati.HM Number | HM1KV4 |
